Dixie Dregs tour under the title ‘Dawn of the Dregs Tour’ will reunite original band members for grand 25-cities run of dates for the first time in 40 years. Remarkable hard rock band are taking the high voltage show to major cities across the United States including Ponte Vedra Beach, Atlanta, Durham, Collingswood, Newton, Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and more. Therefore, Dixie Dregs tour schedule kicks off in the city of Clearwater, FL at the Capitol Theatre venue on February 28, while the final stop will wrap up the whole tour in the city of Dallas, TX at House of Blues venue on April 25. Tour Details

The Dixie Dregs' Original Lineup of Steve Morse, Andy West, Rod Morgenstein, Steve Davidowski and Allen Sloan will team up again since 1977' their second studio LP 'Free Fall'. As a consequence, all fans around the globe will visit Dixie Dregs tour and meet their favorite old school rockers one more time. Musicians said, that for such a great returning they were inspired by numerous requests from their old fans as well as from much younger audience, that had not been able to attend Dixie Dregs concert yet. As a matter of fact, the Georgia-based band had released seventh studio albums, the latest of which is 'Full Circle' dropped in 1994. Moreover, The Dixie Dregs made a serious impact on the development of such a genre as jazz-rock fusion.

The Dixie Dregs will perform new music from their seventh studio LP along with other fan-favorites compositions. In particular, during the Dixie Dregs shows will be played such outstanding songs as Refried Funky Chicken, Northern Lights, Take It Off The Top, Cruise Control, Ice Cakes, Odyssey and more.

The History of the Band

The history of the legendary band begins in 1970 under the name of Dixie Grit created by two high school students Steve Morse and Andy West. Later, other musicians such as Dave Morse (Steve's brother) on drums, Frank Brittingham (guitar and vocals) and Johnny Carr (keyboards) joined the band. When the boys entered universities, the general concept of the band changed a bit and they functioned like a duo called Dixie Dregs. In addition, while studying at the University of Miami School of Music, Steve and Andy, together with Andy West (bass), Allen Sloan (violin) and Bart Yarnal (drums), performed under the title Rock Ensemble II. By the way, the first full-fledged studio album by Dixie Dregs was 'The Great Spectacular' was released in 1975.  Thereafter, the career of revolving hard rock band speedily moved up, and very soon they received a proposal from the Capricorn Records Label.

The Dixie Dregs entered into an agreement with the company and marked this cooperation by the release of their second album entitled 'Free Fall' in 1977. Eventually, 'Free Fall' became the most significant and prominent album on band's account. In 1981, the band changed its name to The Dregs. However, critically acclaimed the Dixie Dregs band are one of the best ensembles of the genre of jazz-rock fusion of all time, combining virtuosic technique with eclecticism and a sense of humor and spirit, which is so rare for other similar projects. Besides this, Dixie Dregs were also nominated for GRAMMY-Award six-time.
